Message why would it have been funny if it was "SCC's car" as opposed to someones personal ride? I don't get how someone being rearended at a traffic light is funny, wether it be a person who owns the car or someone who works at the magazine and is just happening to drive it at that time. And, for example, if it was on a closed course with a proffesional driver, it's still not funny if he wrecks. Proffesional driver does not mean perfect driver, they wreck too.

But here's the kicker. You said that you have read all the articles thoroughly and even put some of the methods into use building your car. If this was the case and you knew so much about the project car, how did you not know Mike owned the car? And how was it 'news' to you that it was someone's personal car that was wrecked, not just the magazine's? And even if for some reason that fact escaped you in the articles, surely you have seen the car talked about here with Mike's name and SCC project mentioned together pretty frequently. So, whats the deal with this post? And this quote? "I thought it was originally funny that SCC has all this technical expertise and yet one of their drivers had managed to get in an accident, perhaps due to their driving ability."

In closing, I fail to see the humor in the accident no matter who owns the car and who's drving it. I understand you retracted your statement, but you did so because you learned of the circumstances in which the accident happened. Had they actually been what you thought they were, you would have still thought it was funny.

So, don't come here with this 'I'm a purist true and true' crap. You might be able to feed some people here your BS, but not me. Admit what you said and stand behind it. Don't give some list of excuses why you shouldn't be held responsible for what you said.
